CHAPTER 8
(Yes, I know I missed a post. I’ll add one this week and do an update sometime soon.)
The trip was uneventful until they got to Magharoskari. The small village had a spray of infected.
They’d brought hand weapons with them but were authorized gunfire since it was a recon. Primary weapons were suppressed MP7s and the sound of the vehicle engines attracted more attention than the shots.
There were a few survivors, some from the village, some refugees from the lowlands.
People boggled at their mixed gear, armor, swords and axes combined with modern firearms.
Adams let the Keldara handle it. The name was sort of known in the area.
A few more survivors, a few more infected, in Tsiparani. It could hardly be called a village, more a vacation home development with a bit of sheep herding.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
It was getting on to evening when they reached the Aragvi Adventure Park.
Part of the discussion had been ‘where do we sleep?’ There might, probably would be, infected that would infiltrate the area as soon as they showed light.
Part of that was not showing light. Part of that was finding somewhere that would hold against infected if they showed up.
Fortunately, there was the somewhat ubiquitous stone towers. Two of them, in more or less decent condition, were right across the road from the objective.
When they got to the first one, it was not ‘lather, rinse, repeat.’
