CHAPTER 9

There were two buildings standing out of the reservoir by the dam, both on top of concrete and steel structures and connected to the main dam and thus the land by a narrow steel foot-bridge painted yellow with the paint now fading and flaking.

Building One was on top of the sluice and intel indicated was the sluice control building. It had an external steel stairway leading from the top of the sluice structure to the single door that also connected to the foot bridge. The building was solidly built out of concrete, had one to three narrow vertically oriented windows on each face and stood atop four concrete pillars that looked like legs on a table.

If they had to take it, it was going to be a bitch. The long foot bridge was exposed to fire for nearly a hundred meters, you had to go up three flights of steel stairs right out there in the open and it looked hard to enter. The door was designed to prevent entry and the windows appeared to be ballistic polymer.
