CHAPTER 2
The news still wasn’t covering the ‘disturbance.’ The waves were nearly to Iceland at which point, given their size, national news was going to have to cover it.
And given their size, based on Atlantic tsunami indicators, there was going to be some massive flooding along the east coast. Shorting insurance companies had been the right call.
But that left three problems. Four.
Montauk was assuredly going to flood and flood high.
The girls were at school by now. And Aleisha was going to resist him picking them up to get to safety. She would say no if he said the moon rose in the east.
Then there was Rebecca.
Which call to make first?
“Aaagh,” he said, standing up from his chair. He looked around at the comfortably appointed office of his house right on the beach for exactly three seconds. Then he put in a Bluetooth earbud, went through his contacts to ‘The Wicked Witch’ and hit send.
