Carole had the tv in the office on low and looked up when the Emergency Broadcast System went off. She turned up the volume.
“Please Stand By for an Emergency Message from the Director of Homeland Security…
“My fellow citizens, an unknown effect has caused a large disturbance in the North Atlantic.
“This disturbance is raising sizeable waves that are anticipated to affect the entire Atlantic Seaboard from Maine to Florida. The effect will be primarily flooding, and the flooding is not anticipated to reach our coast for several hours.
“As a precautionary measure, the Department of Homeland Security is ordering an evacuation of certain low-lying areas along the Atlantic Seacoast and immediate inland areas.
“Residents of low-lying areas along the Atlantic coast should begin an immediate, calm and orderly, evacuation.
“If your house or business is elevated well above sea-level, at least one story above, you should be fine.
“Tune in to the Department of Homeland Security website and DHS dot gov and follow the links to maps showing areas that may be potentially affected.
“Some schools and businesses may be affected. They will be contacted shortly.
“Let’s do this in a calm and orderly manner…”
