One of the reasons there’ve been no posts is that ANOTHER universe popped up and said ‘I WANT TO TELL MY STORY!’

Issue with this below from a comment on the most recent post:

Gotta warn. This ideation hasn’t stabilized. I’m 99% sure he met and married Genevieve on the night of the Outbreak and she is a Southern Belle from Brunswick, GA and she has a Senator uncle.

But he might NOT have been thrown out of the Army and he might NOT have a Senator Uncle because that would make it hard for him to join/rejoin when the Army starts getting its feet under it.

‘So, this question. ‘Is your net worth equal to or exceeding one million dollars?’ If I check ‘yes’ I’m not getting in, right?’

‘Probably not. While there are waivers...’

‘Which gets to the ‘Are you related to or close friends with any United States Congressman or Senator?’ It doesn’t mention the President...’

OTOH, if he really wants to piss off the CoC he COULD have an Uncle Senator and get the Uncle Senator to push the Army to use the Mobile Infantry concept. (Without which the November War will drag on to the point the world shuts down... which is one concept that might happen but not at the same time. That is, I could write a letter/diary from the ‘world has collapsed’ by one of the same people. Is that the main timeline/universe? Is this one where the world WILL survive (and what’s his name and Genevieve have many babies... I’m not even sure this is his permanent ‘main character’ name.) This is why it takes me years to ‘come up with’ series because they are warping/morphing in my brain the whole time.)

And he’s only one of several characters that might/might not turn up. He has only been the ‘main’ character’ recently and Timber Wolf, Michael Pisces or Ragnar might enter the chat. Michael Pisces was the main character and while they have much in common, they’re slightly different. (For one thing, Pisces is a mage and an experienced Hunter.) Who they are and why they matter might have to slowly come into focus.

Because it’s still out of focus for me. You’re watching how my brain builds stories with this one so don’t get wedded to one universe/reality.

All the universes have value, some are just better than others. Not just ‘metauniverses’ (Troy, Black Tide, Paladin of Shadows, Posleen, take your pick which is best) but the alternate universes within those (where Mike ends up dead in Ghost and it was just a dream as he was dying... Yes, considered writing that... Or where Cally got killed in When the Devil Dances or where Black Tide was a Carrington Event and Faith ended up as Megan in In a Time of Darkness with much the same result for her captor.) I’ve mentioned this before with the Michael Truesdale story that the story where Gondola exists but he is/not an heir, there are no super powers, he has to face the Society assassins much earlier (instead of MS13) is just as good as the super powers story. (And possibly better. Much more challenging that’s for sure.)

These are all the snippet universes, failed universes and stories that never quite made it to prime time.

Since I was utterly freaking stuck, you’re going to have to watch that unfold cause it’s all I’ve got.

Who knows, maybe Timber Wolf is the main character though he’s faded out for over a year. I could change the War so that his precog ability is what saves the remnant of the White Council.

I still think Ragnar is the main character but he’s so solid, entrenched and complete he’s sort of boring. Bit like Gandalf in LOTR (for whom he was the basis since JRR was a Man of the West agent for a time after The War. Yes, that was chumming.) Just as Gandalf could really be considered the main character of LOTR. Just one Tolkien realized was too hard to grasp so he went with the ‘common man’ character of Frodo.

Hang in there. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride.
